My interview is in a couple days. It is set for 8:30am.

How early should I get there?

Is 6:30am too early?

Can my sister enter the embassy with me?

Is there a waiting area for people who are accompanying you?

Are we broken up into groups when we get in: CR1, K1, K3 etc?

I-130 NOA1 : 2008-02-14

I-130 Approved : 2008-05-14

NVC Received : 2008-05-20

DS-3032 sent AOS Bill Generated : 2008-05-26

Eva emailed DS-3032 : 2008-05-30

Called NVC and got IIN number : 2008-05-30

PAID AOS Fee Online and IN PROCESS : 2008-06-02

AOS Status changed to PAID online, and updated at the NVC : 2008-06-04

AOS packet with barcode cover letter MAILED via Priority Mail : 2008-06-05

DS-3032 email accepted : 2008-06-10

NVC received AOS : 2008-06-11

IV Bill Invoiced and paid online and IN PROCESS : 2008-06-14

IV Bill status = PAID, Barcode printed : 2008-06-17

AOS packet officially "received" : 2008-06-16

DS-230 Packet express mailed to NVC : 2008-07-02

i think 1 hr early is fine.. :thumbs:

NO, your sister cant go inside the USEM.. :no:

there is a so-called waiting area for your kasama, but then it's outside.. :(

hmmm, im not sure abt the group thingy..

i think when u enter USEM, there's a line for every case..

but for the interview none, ive noticed it's by appointment..

cos my CO interviewed a family before me..

and before them a girl under k3..

Good Luck on your interview. You cannot bring a "kasama" inside and they will have to wait outside. But the petitioner can accompany the applicant, and he/she just have to present his/her US Passport to the Guard. I had my interview at 6:30am and me and my husband went to the Embassy at 4:30am and there's already a long line waiting. CR/IR and K visas are processed the same way, there's a different area for the non-immigrant/tourist visa applicants.

03 March 2010 - USCIS Acceptance Confirmation via e-mail and text message

06 March 2010 - received I-797C, Notice of Action/Receipt

01 April 2010 - Biometrics Appointment (Biometrics done 4/7/10)

27 April 2010 - received I-797C/ Request to Appear for Naturalization Interview

02 June 2010 - Interview schedule

17 June 2010 - Oath Taking (Memorial Auditorium, Sacramento, CA)

Hello,

At least be there an hour before your interview. Your sister can't go inside USEM. She can wait for you outside USEM, there's this somehow waiting area with vendors around. When you get in, ask the guard where to line up for k1 visa interview. USually, it's a short queue.
