NVC needs USCIS case number

My fiance called NVC today and he couldn't talk to any person there. But he was able to get ahold of the automated machine and it was asking him for his USCIS case number which starts with WAC. He gave it but then the machine said, he could not get find the case number in their system. Does anyone know why?

How long ago did USCIS send it out? Possibly they haven't received it yet.

How long ago did USCIS send it out? Possibly they haven't received it yet.

We got it approved on July 18 and my fiance received the notice or approval letter from USCIS on July 24.

now I'm confused and even anxious :(

K1's are not entered into the automated system at NVC. You need to press 1 and then 5 to get a human and it's best to do so about 10pm est. You give them your WAC and they will give you a new case number and tell you when/if it has been sent out to the Consulate.
