Best way to get Visa? Should I do K1 first then Tourist?

My girlfriend is Colombian - I'd like for her to get a US tourist visa. A friend suggested we apply for a K1 visa (even though we do not intend on getting married at the moment, it isn't even at that stage yet). After returning from the US on a K1 visa, the idea was that applying for a tourist visa would then be easier. Does this make sense? Should we just try for a Tourist Visa from day 1? What about the different visa options for business related purposes?

Is it possible for a foreign national to own a portion of an LLC in the US and somehow use this ownership as a way to help secure a visa (for either tourism or business)?

Thanks!

 Are you asking if you should get a K1, even though you have not got marriage as your intention just so she can visit, then return home and then apply for a toursit Visa?

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Get her a visitor visa. Make sure when she enters the US there's no intent to immigrate - that at the time of entry, she intends to return home.

Once here, if things work out, intentions can change and one can always get married and apply for Adjustment of Status.

Key is to ensure that intent on her part at the time of entry into the US is to return home.

Thanks! The intent is certainly not to stay. We are going for two primary reasons:

1. To visit and see the US

2. To research some business topics (training/conferences) relevant to a business that her, myself and a third partner (US based) are involved in.

It just seems that there is so much going on, I'm not sure how to present it. Seems that full disclosure is best, though so much info almost seems like we're trying too hard, even though it's all true. I am also going to be applying for a business visa to remain in Colombia for several months doing some market research for the same project.

They will want to see evidence of her ties in Colombia. Basically, put yourself in their shoes and ask yourself - what would I want to see from this prospective tourist that will convince me she intends to come home?
