Language barrier joke

Unacceptable. Just like jokes about Mexicans are unacceptable, so are jokes about Asians. In fact, I would say that jokes are unacceptable, as jokes are always mean to someone or something. No more jokes on VJ.

See, that is what I thought too... not about the border jumping! lol But that this is really not making fun of a particular race but showing the humor in some mistakes made in LANGUAGE BARRIERS. Like I will tell on myself for a second. My husband is Canadian, however he is French Canadian. When I went to his country and met his family for the first time, we were going to play cards. His father was testing me to see if I was fully listening and understanding. He said, "Let's Play Strip Tease." He must have said it with a really thick accent cuz I heard "TREIZE." (Which is 13 in French.) My husband had taught me and my children this game his family likes to play. So when my father in law said, "strip tease." I smiled and said, "Yes let's, that is my daughter's favorite!" My husband and his mother looked at me like "What?!? You are crazy!" So I asked, "Isn't Treize 13 in French?" My husband said yes and laughed, but he didn't say "treize, he said strip tease." His dad started laughing and I was like "What? NO! " So, for me being through some of my own big misunderstandings with language barriers, this is particularly funny without picking on a specific race, make sense?
