i think 'take' doesn't mean the same as 'illegals take the beating of the employers that hire them and unfortunately, the government doesnt do, or doesn't want to see the horrible conditions they live in, but since they got nowhere else to work, they have to suck it up'....

i think this is one of the instances where the employers are more to blame than the people who take the work.. if illegals are willing to bust their arses for 8 dollars an hour cutting pork 50 hours a week with no overtime paid... and americans think it's unfair, why is it the illegals fault? for accepting the working conditions of basically the only work they can get at first? are all those 27k workers honest and hard working? usually that group is also full of foodstamp mamas, crackhead daddies that send their kids to school so they can get a paycheck, and other unfortunate situations.. so, why is it the illegals fault? just being here? and using the only opportunity they have?

For once I bloody agree with you Pedroh with a few points you made on this issue. I do not blame the illegal immigrants for trying. I do blame the clowns Americans have representing them called the Federal Government as well as any business or contractor who is profiteering by exploiting them and working the system. It is disgraceful that the counties are left enforcing the laws while congress waists time on winning votes.

The issues I have when it comes to illegal immigrants are quite simple.

  • No background check
  • No Medical check
  • Jumping the line. Why should illegal immigrants who jumped the border get the red carpet treatment when there are a lot of other poor and deserving people around the world.
  • Daily crimes (violence/murder) committed by illegal immigrants. Which goes against the we are good people here to make a living bs.
  • Areas they live in are now extremely run down. If I take a stroll through the various Latino areas in DC they now look like the streets of a third world country.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

This is very well written BY- other than your issue is apparently not with the illegals themselves but with those you describe in the paragraph above. Except the part about DC. Its actually going through a bit of urban renewal- you just have to go back 20 years.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

The DC area that is, including parts of Virginia and Maryland. Just the other week I went to my biometrics interview there. I kid you not, about a mile down the road from the USCIS office you see people hanging out for day labor work; In an area renowned for illegal immigrants. There would have been at least 30 people on the block alone. That entire area looks like a Cuban town. Probably last renovated in the 70's and has not been touched since.

All I know is that I would love to work under the table and make $1000 a week.

working for $700 a week without any taxes isn't bad at all either.

I know.My whole point is that I would never get hires at one of these restauraunts, let alone get paid under the table becasue all they hire in the kitchen are illegals.

Por qué no??

Just tell them you are illegal and voilá. If the money is that good, claro...

A Cuban town... don't say that too high or you'll have the FBI doing even more domestic surveilance of the DC Metro area.

FWIW Cuban towns are beautiful.
