My wifes driver license expires on august 11th, and I was wondering if there is anyway to renew her license while the aos is pending approval? She has a driver license now but it expires the date that her visa expires which is on the 11th. I'm in the military so i'm away alot and she really needs a license so she can get out when i am not around. Anyone else had this problem? Thanks!

Best to ask the DMV that question directly. Each state has its own drivers' license regulations, and all are under pressure to avoid giving licenses to those whose presence in the U.S. might be considered unlawful. They may ask only for official documentation that the AOS is pending.

From what I have read on some DMV sites they want you to have a valid EAD card that is current and not expiring within 180 days. Does she have a work authorization card yet? If not you may want to look into that as they won't renew her card unless shes got the EAD or Greencard. They are getting picky.
