Hi,

I am currently on a visit back in Germany and I have my interview for the AOS right after I return to the States. August 22nd to be exact. My German Passport is expiring in December. Now I am wondering if I can, while I am back in Germany, just go to the local office and get a new one or if I should get it through the German embassy in the US. The reason why I am wondering is that i don't know what address counts as my address of residence. I don't know if they would accept my German address being on the Passport after living in the US for 9 months now. My mom still lives in the house in Germany of course and I am still registered there as well. I was just thinking that if I get the passport from the embassy in the US they would put my US address on there and that that might be what the USCIS wants to see.

Timewise it would not be possible to get it from the embassy before my interview anyway since I am not in the US right now till right before my interview.

Thank you very much
