curious...if someone had a tin issued to them yrs ago (for tax purposes) b4 receiving ssn & aos what happens to the tin # and anything that was associated with that number? should it be turned in when applying or ssn?

July 23.......Check Cashed
July 25.......Received NOA1

July 28.......Received Biometrics appointment
Aug 12.....received RFE notice

Aug 13...Biometrics Appointment

Oct. 8.........EAD Card production ordered

Oct. 16.......EAD Approval noticed mailed
Oct. 18........EAD in hand (came in mail)
Nov 3.........Interview Notice received in mail
Dec 4.........Interview APPROVED, CRIS email: card production ordered

The ITIN will be rejected and replaced with the SSN. You have to send them a copy of your SS card along with a copy of the ITIN notice that you received. Send it to the PO box in Austin, TX on the ITIN form. Start using your SSN. My wife just got the letter from the IRS canceling her ITIN. We used it to file 2007 returns. No we will use the SSN for 2008.
