Packet 3 Clarification Please

Hi,

We just got case complete from the NVC. We are an IR-1 case. My package will now be sent to Montreal. I have read here that people are getting a 'packet 3' containing things like DS-230 and Affadavit of Support materials. I have already submitted all that at NVC. Will I be required to do it again before the interview.

Is there anyone who was recently IR-1? If so, what was in your packet 3 and how long did it take you to get from NVC to Montreal? When did you get your first communication from Montreal?

I'm not doing IR-1. Just CR-1 and/or K-3.

But I think the next thing you'll get from them is the interview date/instructions.

Also, I've been looking at timelines of others, and it seems that from "case complete" to interview date is about 4 months... that's for CR-1, though.

I believe that CR1 and IR1 are basically the same thing and process, the only difference being that CR1 is a conditional resident if the couple has only been married less than 2 years. IR1 is permanent resident, if the couple has been married more than 2 years.

BC Ed, the package 3 with the DS forms and what not is for K3s and K1s only. As you've already done all of that, all you're waiting for now is the interview notice I think.
