Lastname question?

My wife never used here last name. Our marriage registration certificate does't have her lastname.

In the I-130 application and G-325A form I have included here last name as my lastname.

Here present passport does not have here last name. She can have the last name (my last name) added to the passport in one day.

Please suggest if that could be problem at the time of her interview.

Add it into the passport, then you're all set. It would make consistent with I-130 and G-325A.

i did some inquiry on this myself to get this done in india also. i am assuming your wife is in india.

my wife got my name added in her passport also and that was done the same day but here is the catch...your wife can get ur name added to her passport stating that you are her spouse. basically, the passport office adds your name on her passport middle page. but to get her name changed legally on the passport, they have to issue her a new passport book...that could take upto two months depending on how good you can please the passport officer (if you know what i mean;) )....

so if u have a few months before your interview, have your wife start the process NOW so u shud b all set to take her updated new passport to the interview....
