Clean Coal and especially CO2 sequestration is going to be much more difficult than proponents realize. It is interesting the BP has abandoned a CO2 sequestration demonstration plant largely because they concluded that that plan wasn't technically feasible.

Plans to put CO2 into the ground is problematic -- because the crust is basically pretty leaky. Assurance that the stuff isn't going to seap back out is going to be essentially impossible to control.

Sequestration in the oceans is even more problematic, given that ocean acidity is already dangerously increasing due to increased atmospheric CO2 levels.
