I got mail from USCIS CA Service Center stating that my I130 was approved and sent to the NVC. Does this mean that my 129F is no longer an option?

My understanding is that once the I130 is approved before the 129F, the 129F is no longer an option.

Advice please.

Thanks.

WHOA!!! Congrats... First of all... both I129F (K3) and I130 (CR1) are still both valid options. Your K3 with probably get an interview about 45 days sooner than the I130 or you can wait for the I130 and get a much better visa.

Either way, please add a new or update the timeline feature so it can help us with our calculations.

What is your I129F NOA1 date (the I797 notice they first sent you at the very beginning after you filed)

also

what is your NOA1 date for the I130?

If you have not filed the I-129F yet then it is no longer an option. Besides it would never catch up to the I-130. Just follow the CR-1 flow chart.

Note: I-130 (CR-1) is the superior visa, it directly results in a green-card apon entry. K-3 requires AOS ($1010) and CANNOT WORK, get SSN, or apply for driver's license, until they have EAD or green-card, EAD can take 90 days or more to get.
