Lots of people have commented on how alike me and Tom look. I think it's because we both wear similar style glasses, have dark hair and brown eyes (though his are a little lighter than mine). He's taller than me but we are both average weight for our heights.

People have thought we were siblings before.

I don't think we look alike in features, but we have pretty much exactly the same coloring.

Yup, same here. It's because not only do we look vaguely alike but that we're both extremely young looking, especially Alex (most people guess he is 14). We get a few strange looks when we're together in public. Comments we have received upon discovering that no, we are a couple have ranged from awkward-sounding 'Oh's to 'are you sure they're old enough to get married?' (to Alex's mother).

We have different colouring. I have dark eyes and hair and he has green eyes and lighter coloured hair. We have similar faces; similar shape, similar cheeks, similar enough nose. The rest isn't really alike at all but people look at your overall face rather than individual features and the shape and nose is what I suppose they see first.

He's an inch shorter which also doesn't help the whole he-looks-like-my-younger-brother situation. I can pick him up easily (he hates that).

My wife says that Peruvians think that it's a really good sign when a couple looks like bro/sis. They say it's a sign that the relationship will be long and happy.

 Okay.........

That was my reaction when she said that. She had just met a friend of mine and his wife and wanted me to tell them they look like brother and sister. I kind of looked at her like #######? and held off on the translation. Then she told me it was a good superstition in her country.
