passport error..HELP!!!!

hello there!!! im done with my medical today, it went smoothly but my problem was my passport, i have just noticed the error when the attendant at st. lukes told me that there was a misplelled word of my birthplace, instead of ORIENTAL is was spelled as OREINTAL...now, i cant have my vaccinnes yet and they will hold my medical records until i can submit my corrected passport to them..so it means that they wont submit my records to manila embassy yet... JULY 11, 2008 was my schedule for interview at Manila embassy...do i still have time for correcting my passport? i was just wondering how long does the DFA will issue me a new passport...and does this problem can cause delayed on my visa? who among you here have encountered the same problem? specially for those who are from the philippines..pls help me.. i want to hear something from you guys....

CR1 VISA

TIMELINES:

February 27,2008--------NVC recieved the I-130 from USCIS

May 27,2008------------CASE COMPLETE!!

June 23,2008-------------MEDICAL EXAMINATION AT ST. LUKES (PASSED)

July 11,2008-------------INTERVIEW AT MANILA EMBASSY @ 6:30AM...( APPROVED, PINK SLIP ) THANK U LORD...

July 15,2008-------------VISA IN HAND....Thanks God!

July 22,2008-------------My flight to Michigan (Exciting.....)

July 23,2008-------------Arrived in Michigan, POE - Detroit

August 02,2008-------------Recieved my SSN CARD

August 09,2008-------------Recieved my GREEN CARD

Monalisa,

You go to the Director's Office in DFA Pasay. You talk to the Director what is the best thing to do.Either to issue a new passport or have a certification since its just a spelling of the birth place. You bring copy of your appointment interview and the OR of that passport.

If renewal it takes 10 working days and before that they will check on ur application since it is the so called discrepancy issue.
