i came here on h-1b visa n got married to US citizen.

what i need to do to change my status to greencard?

va r the forms i need to file concurrently?

5th March 2009: Sent I-485, I-765, I-130 and I-131 packet

6th March: Uscis received packet

14th March: Received NOA1 dated 12th march

4th April: Biometrics for I-485 and I-765 (took 15 min)

23rd april: Received letter for initial interview for I-485 (interview on may 27th 2009)

28th april: I cud c my status online today about I-765&I-131(says:On 27th april card production ordered

and I-131 approval notice sent)

2nd may: Received AP (Advance Parole)

5th May: Received EAD(valid for 1 year)

27th May: Interview- AOS approved

28th May: I-485 (Card production ordered dated May 27th)

I-130 (Case received and pending)

4th June: Received I-130 approval notice letter(online status: case received and pending)

5th June: Welcome Notice dated 28th May

21st June: My online status updated for I-485 (card production ordered dated june 15th)

29th June: Atlast I received my ''PERMANENT RESIDENT CARD'' today valid for 2 years till may 2011

I believe you just have to file adjustment of status.

07/11 Congress aide found out I-130 was approved on 07/09!!!

07/17 NOA2 hardcopy dated 07/09

07/21 Approval notice hardcopy dated 07/11 I-130 was approved in 116 days from filing date (expedited).

07/16 Emailed expedite request & supporting documents

07/17 DS-3032 and AOS fee bill generated, Emailed DS-3032.

07/21 Received DS-3032 & AOS fee bill hardcopy.

07/24 NVC approved expedite request

US Consulate

07/31 Package arrived at US consulate

08/01 Was told to pick up packet 3 on 08/04

08/04 Req packet 3 send by mail.

08/09 Received packet 3

08/11 Returned packet 3

08/15 Picked up packet 4 & medical check up

08/28 Submitted civil docs & paid $400 IV fee. Visa Interview & approved !!!

08/29 Visa in hand

09/30 POE IR1 visa interview took 166 days from the I-130 filing date (expedited).

10/04 Applied for SSN in married name.

11/11 Welcome notice received (dated 11/04)

11/15 Received Green card.

11/21 2nd Welcome notice received (dated 11/13)

11/24 Received SS card in maiden name.

you can file an I-130 or an I-140.... the latter requires more documentation, but has fewer strings attached

you might be able to file a I-485 concurrently

once i get EAD.....can i do any type of work ? or i need to work software related jobs...i mean speciality occupation related jobs.....jes confused.....
