Question regarding Poverty Level

Having done the math, turns out a petitioner needs to make about 8.60/hr when filing an Afidavit of Support.

...Right?

Of course, since the poverty level (for two people) for the 48 contiguous states is $13,200...

If poverty level is $13,200 for 2 people, then

125% of poverty level is $16,500

(16,500/52)/40 = $7.93 per hour

[16500 divided by 52 weeks in a year divided by 40 hours in a week)

So I guess one would need to be making $7.93 an hour for 40 hours a week to meet 125% of the poverty line...

de_sjiem,

Taichidi is K1, 125% of the poverty level may not apply.

Perhaps they dont need 125%, but i haven't heard what amount they need either.. but if they dont need 125% then how did she get 8.60? that would be even higher per year income than almost $8... depends which affadavit of support i guess.. it isn't stated..
