What's the difference between 10A and 10C ?

I don't get it....

10A

A. Applicable to NONRESIDENT ONLY

(1) All household effects acquired abroad for which free entry is sought were used abroad for at least one year by me or my family in a household of which I or my family was a resident member during such period of use, and are not intended for any other person or for sale. (9804.00.05, HTSUSA)

(2) All instruments, implements, or tools of trade, occupation or employment, and all professional books for which free entry is sought were taken abroad by me or for my account or I am an emigrant who owned and used them abroad. (9804.00.10,9804.00.15, HTSUSA)

10C

C. Applicable to NONRESIDENT ONLY

(1) All household effects acquired abroad for which free entry is sought were used abroad for at least one year by me or my family in a household of which I or my family was a resident member during such period of use, and are not intended for any other person or for sale. (9804.00.05, HTSUSA)

(2) Any vehicles, trailers, bicycles or other means of conveyance being imported are for the transport of me and my family and such incidental carriage of articles as are appropriate to my personal use of the conveyance. (9804.00.35, HTSUSA)

You want to check 10 C, because 10 A should read "Applicable to RESIDENT and NONRESIDENT" -- since it is just you moving to the US, you want 10 C

As per question 9, you are a 2 a (non resident emigrating to the US). Therefore, since 10 C is applicable to a non-resident only, that's the one you check.

thank you ! look like there is some kind of bug on the upack form downlodable from their website then (or because i'm temporary on mac....but it's weird). I got the one from the official website and it is written resident and non resident.

but as a non resident should i check all the 10 A and 10C case (even if i do not bring a vehicule or work stuff or i just leave those blanks ?)
