.. so now that we're waiting for I-130's NOA2, is it a good idea to get the nvc forms signed up and mailed already? or do i have to wait for the approval to start that?

also, about the police reports, does getting them now to save some time a good idea or is it against the rules?

Thanks in advanced.

It depends on how long it takes to get the police report and how long it's validity last at where you are. I have filled up the application form for the "police report", done the statue declaration required (in my country). I am just waiting to go to apply in person once I hear the news of NOA2, I know I can get the police report on the same or the next day.

I have also prepared the forms and documents required for NVC i.e. DS-230, DS-3032 draft email, birth cert and translation, marriage cert and translation, just need the NOA2 and the visa case number now. :-)
