Change of Address woes

Ok. So we made a mistake. We moved out of our apartment a week early and didn't notify the embassy. I thought our packet 3 would arrive before we left (it didn't) or that at least the Royal Mail forwarding system would be efficient (wrong on two counts).

Anyway, almost three weeks after returning our RFE, we have received no NOA and no Packet 3 at our new address. How bad is the Royal Mail's forwarding system? Could things get delayed for this long?

Anyway, I had planned on giving the embassy our new address when I sent back Packet 3. Since it did not arrive, I broke down today and called DOS. No info without a case number, which allegedly comes in Packet 3. Arg. I then emailed the embassy to give the new address and ask if they know the status of our RFE and I-130 in general.

I had everything timed to a T, but that RFE has thrown everything off!

Anyone have experience with Royal Mail (non)forwarding?
