AOS interview - 4 1/2 mos. later no GC

I know a girl who came over with the K1 visa, she married within 90 days and applied for her GC soon after. She and her husband went on their AOS interview mid-January where she was told that she was approved, but that USCIS no longer gives the stamp in the passport (which we know is not true, my hubby received his 9 days prior to her interview).

Fast forward 4 1/2 months and this girl still doesn't have her GC or anything from USCIS - no e-mails, letters, updates, NADA.

Do you know what the reason could be, if any? Could it be that the IO wasn't sure of a bonafide relationship...or could there be a name check AFTER an "approved" interview?

11/2004 - Met in Brazil

09/2006 - Apply for K1

03/2007 - K1 approved

04/2007 - Apply for AOS & EAD

07/2007 - EAD approved

01/2008 - Conditional Residency approved

11/2009 - Apply to remove conditions

02/2010 - Permanent Residency approved

11/2010 - Apply for Citizenship

03/2011 - Citizenship approved

07/2011 - Moved back to Brazil

So there is no change in the online status, it still says "pending"? Or did they change their address at any time during the process, so maybe the green card was sent to the wrong place then returned to USCIS?

Some people are "approved pending name check" after their interview. So it may be that.

I would definitely have them call up USCIS and schedule an Infopass to know what's going on!

I know that my husband's on-line status said pending for a long time.

She said that she made an infopass appt and spoke to an IO - who gave her no answer.

I know! I talked to her again and she said she made THREE infopass appointments, has received no letter, and they give her no information - just tell her to keep on waiting..
