Hi all!

Once you file the I-751...

1. How long does it take before you receive a receipt, so you can travel?

2. How long before you receive the actual new card?

3. What step(s) do you have to take after this? Or do they actually send letters? Pftt.. ya right, but ya never know.

This one almost slipped by us. It's up to us to remember when to do everything, so I'd like to be prepared in advance for any processes to come.

The answers to your questions 1 and 2 depend a lot on which service center you sent our I-751 and if you get transferred to another service center or not.

Please fill in your timeline and provide more info on your profile.

Next steps usually include:

1. receiving the NOA/extension letter

2. getting the biometrics appointment letter

3. having biometrics done

4. wait

5. wait

6. wait some more

7. maybe wait a little bit more

08/17/08: Mailed N400 to TSC

08/19/08: USPS attempted delivery

08/20/08: TSC received N400

08/21/08: TSC cashed check

09/02/08: Received NOA...........Priority date: 08/20/08

..............................................Notice date : 08/22/08

09/02/08: Received Biometrics Notification

09/18/08: Biometrics completed - Charlotte DO

10/24/08: Received Interview Letter

12/08/08: Interview @ 1:00pm. APPROVED!

01/05/09: Oath Ceremony 10:00AM. Now officially a USC!!!

01/28/09: Received US Passport
