It's been a busy few days. :)

For starters right before the trip our car threw a rod, given that Atlanta is 4-5 hours away, this was not the best start to the week. We ended up having to rent a car and did get there all right anyway, but the added stress of a broken down vehicle was entirely not what I needed.

Our interview was scheduled for 1:30pm, which was nice, 8am would have been hellish. We arrived and signed in about 45 minutes before the interview. We were called in at about 1:33pm so pretty well on time, which we weren't expecting.

The actual interview went alright I think. After signing waivers as our lawyer wasn't present the interviewer verified with me the basic information on the forms, name, address, phone number etc. She asked myself and my husband the other's birth date, asked me when I last entered the US and if I had left and come back anytime since then, asked if either of us had ever been arrested, and asked me the long list of "no" questions.

After that she asked for copies of accounts in both of our names, while I was getting out copies of joint tax returns she asked my husband how we had met and they chatted a little about that. I also gave her copies of joint credit card bills, health insurance, and other things like memberships in both of our names. I had a huge case full of file folders with documents and copies ready if she needed or wanted to see anything else, even offering to show originals if needed. Towards the end we also gave her a copy of our apartment lease with both our names on it, the original from our current address in 2004, and the most recent one that we just signed last month. She didn't ask to see anything else, and didn't really ask much by the way of questions either, which worried me a little. I opened up my case of documents and we told her we had more if she needed to see anything, pictures, cards, letters, etc, and she said no, she was convinced we were married and that we would hear from them soon.

I know some people have reported being told at the end of the interview if they were approved and I was hoping for a similar result. Still she did indicate that she thought we were married and didn't bother to so much as look at our pictures and most of the other evidence we brought with us, which I hope means she will approve us. The whole interview was maybe 20 minutes.

I'm still pretty nervous and hoping we hear from them soon.

Congrats that at least it is over, and it sounds like you will hear something probably in a few days. Sorry to hear about the vehicle that really was a bad way to start the day for sure. I hope you hear soon, crossing my fingers that you do.

Definitely glad it's over, now I just have to keep an eye out for one of those nice letters telling me I'm approved, and look for a new car... :)
