I just puts some money into a cd.

Hi guys

I am looking to show bank assets and i just put some money in to a Certificate of deposit for a term of 8 months. I should have my interview between end of july and and september. I will receive monthly statements showing the start date of the cd as 19th may and maturity date as 18th Jan 09. Could i show my monthly statements as evidence of assets and will i be fine with the fact that this is CD is started recently and it will show date of maturity.

Also i have a joint bank account with my mother. It has a huge amount in there and we had our names in there since it was open. It has been more than 2 years. Can i show that bank account as my asset with out having my mother as joint sponsor. i am looking to show only my half of the balance, in form of getting a notarized letter from my mother that the money in the account is split 50-50 between the 2 names.

Yes you can show that and you can also show just a Bank Statement from your bank officer stating when the account was opened and present balance.
