Hey All,

I need a little more guidance from the old heads. My fiance called my today and told me he didn't know what type of passport to get. Apparently he was told he needed to have a reason for the passport. (the whole conversation was confusing) It almost sounded like they wanted a qualification as if it were a visa. Did anyone else encounter this problem? What is the proper passport qualification?

Thanks,

Nik

I don't remember Re needing a reason to get a passport. He just filled out the form, got a few signatures, brought his birth cert and money and that was it. The only thing he had to choose was how much money to give to change the processing time.

I think you're refering to the profession, right? If you put down a certain profession, the passport office will ask you to support that with a photocopy of your professional certificate. For example, if you put down nursing for a profession, they'll ask you to produce your nursing certificate, make a copy of it before they forward it for processing. This could be what your partner is referring to.
