A series of questions in preparation for the interview

Hi Everyone,

My fiancee is preparing her Packet 3 materials for the US consulate in Frankfurt, Germany, and we have a series of questions pertaining to the forms.

1. For question 36 on the DS-156 form, she is asked if anyone has ever filed an immigrant visa petition on her behalf. Does this imply PRIOR to the petition I filed on her behalf, or should she check YES here and include my name?

2. For question 9 on the DS-157 form, she is asked to list all of the countries she has entered over the past ten years. Being in Europe, she has travelled to various countries by way of entering other countries on the way. For example, when travelling to Italy, she passed through Austria but never stayed in Austria. How detailed does the information provided for this question need to be? Does one only list those countries entered which correspond with a stamp in her passport, or rather ALL countries entered in the traditional sense of the term?

3. We are still unsure if only the DS-230 I is sent in and the DS-156, DS-156K, and DS-157 are simply brought along to the interview, or if all of these documents need to be sent in prior to the interview.

Hopefully, someone can provide us with some guidance. Thanks for your help!

1) NO  you did not file an I-130 (IMMIGRANT Petition)

http://www.visajourney.com/examples/Form-DS-156.pdf

2) I would be as complete about this as possible, perhaps attach a sheet of paper listing countries visited and when.

3)

What forms should be send back to the Consulate?

As described in Form DSL-1076:

- a photocopy of each page of your passport

- one passport style picture (attached to Form DS 156)

- Form DSL-1076: visa instructions for fiance(e) nonimmigrant visa applicants (checklist)

- Form DS 230 part 1

- Form DS 156 (needs one passport photo attached)

- Form DS 157

- Form DS 156k (the checklist says to return this one as well – however it needs to be signed in front of a consular officer)

The checklist form is actually misleading – at the bottom of Form DSL – 1076 it says: “ You should bring all of the above pertinent documents and the application forms with you to the interviewâ€; thus you should send back the checklist and DS 230 – as everything else is an application form or a document.

:guides: VJ has extensive info to answer many questions, you just need to look some.

Having profile details filled out would have saved you from asking this question, I would have been able to give you these details in your prior post.

When asking questions it helps everyone if you would take the time to fill in profile details and do a timeline.

Details: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...rCP&CODE=01 (Country, Filed for, ....) N/A just does not help.
