great chinese food in Flushing

Word.

And you can get the 'real' stuff - chicken feet, pig intestines and all....

Alternatively you can get some good faux Chinese meat dishes at the Happy Buddha Restaurant - I usually get the 'sesame chicken'.

Excellent! I'm less than 50 miles SW of you, and there are no Nepalis here at all, not that I know of anyway.

It's interesting how they have mostly clustered in Queens - especially Sunnyside(my nickname for that area is 'Khumbu' because I always see Sherpas getting off the subway there) , Woodside, Jackson Heights and a few in FLushing. We have a database at the library which allows you to search for individual surnames by state, and if you look up 'Sherpa', 'Tamang', 'Lama', 'Shresta', 'Adhikari'(mine), they're ALL in Queens.

... a good place for a new Nepali immigrant to adjust. :)

No doubt. There's a reason the Queens is such a magnet for new immigrants.

Yep - he'll have a lot of company. :) There's a Nepali video store/travel agent(where I bought my last two tickets to KTM), at least one Nepali employment agency, and a couple of Nepali restaurants(including one which just conveniently moved next to the Roosevelt Ave/ 74th St. subway stop - they do a great 'piro alu' -spicy potoato curry).

When he gets here we will probably eventually have our US wedding at the Saibaba temple and a small party at the Himalayan Yak restaurant in Jackson Heights - any VJers will be welcome...

WOW - you are just few blocks from where I live - I hope you don't mind if I graciously accept your invitation LOL

Of course you're welcome - you might have to wait a while though depending on the USCIS, NVC, etc...
