My husband called NVC and talked to a live person , he gave reciept no# for I-129 f and then they gave MNL case no.#

just to make sure I called the NVC automated message and press the case no# for I-129F ,the automated voice message said they don't have the record for that case, i even press the I-129 F receipt number.

but when i checked for the the I-130 ,the automated message have my case no.#

is this only an error to their system?

so im confused if im gonna call the embassy for 129-f (k3) visa appointment.

It's common for k Visas not to be in the NVC automated system.

for K-3 Visa, you do call to make an appointment.

K Visa Interview Appointments

Starting March 19, 2008, those applying for K-1, K-2, K-3 and K-4 visas who have been notified by the Embassy to prepare for their interview can call 1-909-101-7878 (within the Philippines) to schedule an interview appointment at the U.S. Embassy. The cost of the 909 service is U.S. $0.98 per minute; this amount will be charged to your telephone bill.

Applicants, Agents or Petitioners calling from within the United States will also be able to use this service by calling 1-888-877-9888. The cost of the 888 service from the United States is a U.S. $18 PIN payable using a Visa or MasterCard once you have called into the service.

Applicants or their representatives must have the applicant’s Immigrant Case Number as given in the Embassy notification letter available when they call to schedule an appointment.

Callers can speak with an English or Tagalog speaking operator. The service is available to the public from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, Manila local time.

hi! i had that experienced back then too... i was on k1 so we filed the I-129F... so when i called the nvc to check it after our noa2 got approved, the automated response always say no record yet... even until our case reach the embassy already... i found out as what the other vj member told me before that somehow for i-129 or k1, they dont really bother putting the latest update anymore since it wont stay that long at the nvc... they usually just forward it straight to the embassy... so i hope thats the case with you too... i wish u luck on the speedy process!!! God bless!!!

I'm not sure how long you need to wait. there is a charge for the call, so guess worse would be they tell you when to call back. best would be you could schedule your interview. the Embassy should already have an electronic file of the petition, however takes about a week for the physical petition to arrive at the Embassy. hopefully someone who recently scheduled an interview can give you the timing when to call. you could always start another thread asking when to call if you do not receive an answer in this one.

K visas are not in the automated system. You have to talk to a real person.
