Here I am again, I have been hearing a lot about California Service Center to being so slow, my fiance is from Michigan, would it be possible to file in Vermont Service Center instead.

We are now starting to regret hiring a lawyer for some reasons that everything seems to me much slower because we have to send the documents to the lawyer before the lawyer can send our documents to USCIS, and so far the lawyer have not received yet the priority envelop we sent to them with our documents last April 15, 2008...

Since that is our situation now, we are thinking of requesting to file in Vermont Service Center, I want to know if that is possible.

Thank you so much.

God bless us all.

You cannot request to file in any service center, you must file with the service center that your state has as the listed service center.

CSC is a lot slower, but unfortunately you can't request to change service centers because you want to speed things up, or else everyone else would be doing this. if only things were this easy haha!

As long as your petition is not yet forwarded to USCIS-California, it should be fine.

Im not sure if its possible since your State is within the jurisdiction of California Service Center.

90% of the VJ members here we filed our petition on our own unless the situation is very complicated and really need the assistance of the lawyer. I have read some vj'ers here who like u has some complaints too with their lawyers.

Good Luck to your journey! I know its going to be tough waiting but time flies by so fast nowadays!

GOD BLESS YOU!!

Hey also, you should get after your lawyer to move quicker. My lawyer hasn't been slow yet, but I've made sure to let them know that they need to be moving 1 trillion miles per hour when it comes to my documents because im not going to let them take it easy or take any longer than they should be haha!

Hi Jeff & Cloe! We've been hearing same problems with hiring lawyers. I don't know what's the reason behind those delays. It will really take time just with contacting and communicating to them. VJ members seem faster than them when it comes to replying. :D

Hope things get better.

All the best! :)

I agree. Doing it by ourselves is much faster and no single cent is spent for the lawyer.

So now we just have accepted the fact the the lawyer will have to file in CSC and it's fine... One thing is not really OK with now, the fact that we are way behind because of this lawyer thing, we don't understand why he has not received our documents when my fiance sent it last April 15. My fiance was speechless to have known that our documents has not arrived yet to the firm.

I have sent him also two of everything he needs so in case something happens to our documents he still has it. At the end of this if the documents is not yet in our lawyer's hand we have to make an action and file it on our own and face the fact that we spent $500 for nothing.

I am a very nice person and so my fiance so we have anything against that lawyer, he just have to do what he should do.

Ayyy wish us luck and we will update you at the end of this week, and so I have to change again our timeline hahaha!

haha Thanks, for now we have to wait until Friday, if they did not received our papers by Friday we will do it on our own and cancel the lawyer and we'll just think that we lost $500 (lawyer's fee), good thing I sent two copies of everything (it has a purpose hehehe)...

We'll keep you posted on the next episode of our funny yet frustrating I-129F filing with the lawyer...

BE POSITIVE that's what we are keeping in mind, and we're praying for the best...

Hi maria, I want to keep my self positive hehehe I am not reading anything about lawyers anymore hahaha I am avoiding topics like that because as of now we are stuck between the two big words "WHAT?" and "WHAT?" hahahaha and this morning my fiance told me to email the lawyer as he also did that twice hahaha there were so many things I want to say to our lawyer but I thought it would be nice if I will be so good with just a LITTLE touch of pressure on the lawyer's part hahaha

Good thing you already have NOA from USCIS ayyy! Congrats for the NOA1. I think if we receive NOA1 we will be jumping in happiness knowing that the lawyer already made something good for us, yes very true a NOA1 will make us very VEY happy as of now hahaha.
