I thought i would post this, I was searching for flights for 28th June, I looked on www.ba.com website and it was £596.00 one way to Atlanta, I then checked on www.travelocity.co.uk and the exact same flight was £495.40 £100 cheaper.

I always use www.priceline.com or www.travelocity.com when planning my trips. For some reason, the other sites seems to choose the highest fares. Priceline seems to always be a few dollars less than Travelocity, however. Plus, of course, it also depends on all the other factors such as when, where, time, etc...

I flew (return) Gatwick to Atlanta direct with BA in September and it cost me £300

That was with STA Travel, Ebookers have always saved me quite a bit considering the prices that the airlines charge direct from their websites - scandalous! I haven't allowed myself to look into my final flight yet, who knows if it will even be this year! (ha I'm having an impatient day :) )

I will fly ba if possible on my flight, because I think their luggage allowance is pretty good too.

  • 2 weeks later...

We just booked my ticket for June on BA from Heathrow to San Francisco for £326! Great price considering Virgin wanted £540! And yes, BA allows 70lbs per bag until later this summer when it goes down to 50lbs.

Feb 05 - met on match.com, spoke daily over Skype

Mar 05 - boy flew out to San Francisco to meet me, it was love at first site!

May 05 - I flew to Bristol, first time ever in England!

Sept 05 - boy flew back to SF, we got married!

Nov 05 - boy flew to SF for 2 week visit

Feb 06 - I moved with my dog to Bristol

****************

4 visits home for 2 weeks at a time during these 2 years

(very homesick and not happy living in England)

****************

April 2nd - I-130 & G325a sent! DCF process begins!

April 4th - Credit card charged!

April 5th - Email confirming file date of 4/4/08

June 21st - RFE for affidavits...bummer.

July 8th - sent affidavits back to Embassy

June 16th - Received NOA2!! Yay!

Darren's probably leaving at the end of June too!!! And he's finding that airfares are becoming prohibitively expensive...

I'v been reading up on the EAD stamp for K-1's, and finding out that it's not really necessary. I'm calling up my local office to get the scoop on that, but that would make things so much easier if he could fly directly into Orlando!!!

yeah if you're up for a risk the tickets are usually cheaper if you buy them real close to the time you're going. exactly 2 weeks before you go seems to be cheaper too.

From what I've read of the EAD stamp doesn't make a whole lot of difference. That's even if you get it, as its not guaranteed you will.

I did look at going thro JFK. but for the extra few hundred dollars, it didn't seem worth it.

Would be interested to know what you find out! I was hoping to do some temp office work just to get a feel for things (as well as providing a little extra cash) before my EAD comes through, but have found that going from Bristol through JFK and then on to Kansas City just isn't workable.

Well... it works if I don't mind going from Bristol to Amsterdam to JFK then to some other place like Memphis before getting to Kansas City. I even looked at using the Greyhound or something similar and it's just not workable with the timings (not to mention being a horrendous journey).

But if I fly through EWR I can go straight from Bristol to there and then straight on to Kansas City.
