I once worked with the Department of the Interior and Local Government. I went on leave for a couple of months before my interview and rendered my resignation the day I departed the Philippines. I just had my resignation letter, certificates & clearances ready before I took my leave and that was it. I made sure that everything was set accordingly since I didn't want to burn bridges. I resigned and left on a positive note. Hope you can figure things out soon and decide what is appropriate for your situation.

I'll resign as soon as I received my visa. My current employer accepts immediate resignation and would not require a month or 2 weeks notice prior effectivity of resignation date. I am just lucky that they're not that strict with the resignation process but I think it helps that they know from the very beginning that I will be migrating soon to be with my husband. Anyways, to each his own. Some of us would want to resign ahead of time, while some are ok to wait until everything is final. Your call :) God Bless.
