When to do an address Change

Waaah!

So it looks like I will have to wait a couple weeks in order to send out the AOS package. Everything is ready to go, buuut we just bought a house with a pool on a lake. YEAHHH, so we will be moving so I am going to have to change all the addresses on the forms.

Buuuut, another thought I had was to just send it in with the current address (becuase a good friend of ours will be renting our current house) and then do an address change later (like after I send in the paperwork and get at least 1 NOA? Thoughts anyone?

Or can I change my address online? Does it cost anything. OMG! I am so impatient but want to do this right.

MAY 6 2008 ( Day 1) - Notice USCIS received MAY 10 2008 (Day 4) -Rec'd all 4 NOA's & Status of all 4 online

Why not file the AR-11 NOW, and file I-485 using the NEW address. This will save you from having to deal with lost paperwork sent to you by USCIS

Why not file the AR-11 NOW, and file I-485 using the NEW address. This will save you from having to deal with lost paperwork sent to you by USCIS

No AR-11 needs to be sent within 10 days of a move, it is not sent together with your I-485. I would be filing the I-485 with new address.

You can even do AR-11 on USCIS website electronically.

Ohhhh!

Ok I got too excited about that one! So i read it (like I should have before) and it seems the best way would be to file the packet ASAP (as I can only change address online once the packet is "pending") and then change it.

Will this make any difference as far as the bills and such that I am sending with the packet?

Sorry so many questions....I am a bit OCD

No USCIS is NOTORIOUS for not changing the address on pending cases. It is best practice to file AR-11 when you move, and hold on filing the AOS packet until AFTER you move, and file it with your correct NEW address.

Ok, well we are moving within a few weeks, so I am still hoping to be an April filer.

If you did not enter the US on any sort of Visa then you do not need to file form AR-11 as you are not in the USCIS system.... all you need to do is put your new address on all the paperwork for your AOS....

this is what we did when I filed for AOS from a VWP.... We did not have any issues
