We are still waiting on our NOA2 and are hopeful that will happen soon. I want to go and be with my fiancée at the interview even though I can not go in it will give her morale support to know I am close by. I am wonder how much time to they give you when they notify you of your interview. Is it days, weeks or months? It will be hard to request a vacation, apply for visa and purchase plane tickets on a moment notice.

I am not sure how long it will take before she will get her NOA2 but a multiple entry visa will be valid for 6 months or 1 year (depends what you request). However, you are only able to get this one when have been to China for 2 times or more during the last year. A double entry visa is also something you can consider as these are valid for 6 months (mine were anyways).

Also: the spouse or relatives of Chinese citizen who can provide the relevant proof, the maximum duration of stay in China could be as long as 180 days.. I am, however, unsure how this works and how much time this will cost to do since I never did this myself.

I know this is not exactly what you asked for but it might give you some breathing space when you have the visa for China. A plane ticket shouldn't be too much problem to fix :)

Once you recieve the NOA2, it will be sent to the NVC. After processing at NVC, it will be shipped to Consulate in Guangzhou. Your SO will get a Packet 3. She must complete and return this to the Consulate. Aftter processing the Packet 3, the Consulate will send Packet 4 and a letter of invitation for the interview. The interview is generally 30 days from then. The Guangzhou Consulate generally takes 4 to 5 months from recieving paperwork to interview. So, you have a lot of time, but you do not know the interview date for sure until you get Packet 4.
