Hi There Fellow VJers,

I need your help. I got my AP approved and recieved it last week. My AOS is pending and it says it will be a while since the Los Angeles office is backed up. My Question is that I want to travel back to Canada, however, the Signature on my I-20 (student record) is expired. Should I get a new signature before traveling? Also, I read on AP that it does not guarantee you admission back into the United States. In what case would you get a denial if you have AP? Also anyone have any POE experiences with AP and how they process it at the CBP.

Thanks

Harry

Dear Vjer,

The moment you applied for AOS you stopped being an F-1 student. Our dear and sacred I-20 (i was a student too) just became a nice souvenir of our journey hehe, you no longer need it to cross the border, travel or to remain in status in the US. Just bring all the provided AP documentation and maybe even bring along the NOA's and your valid passport to avoid any confusion. As far as I know the AP allows you to re-enter the US without issues, that's its main purpose, so I don't think you will have any issues crossing unless you plan on carrying on a kilo of pot or a dead body hahahaha.
