Maybe hamsters aren't supposed to live in Vietnam in fear that it'll destroy surrounding habitat.

Some plants and animals aren't allowed in certain countries. For example, the animal (think it was a white rabbit) was introduced in Australia and now it's eating the food that supposedly is for a native species. This creates more competition, therefore, reducing the population size of the native species.
