New procedure for interview dates

just wanna asked is there someone used the visapoint instead here for the interview schedule... or it was advice better to call the call center on March 14, cause if really that would only be march for 14, for there were be a lot of caller on that date possible the waiting perid will be longer and the cause per min. will be running as well...

my fiance just purchased a "pin number" from USE call center. its $18 equivalent to 2 calls.. he called already for some follow ups and we have 1 call left..

I don't think there will be that many people caling on the 14th because most people dont know about the new system. When I used the call center, I was talking to a live person both times withn a minute. Good luck to all, I still hope to see everyone with April interview dates.

Yea I wanna know the same thing, I check the USEM website, and click theVISA POINT link but it didn't work..looks like the website is not up yet til the March 14th, to co-incide with the Call Center procedure I presume.

Let me get this clear coz I'm kinda confused..this is the portion I cut off & pasted here from USEM.

//////Individuals must purchase a personal identification number (PIN) to enter the Visa Point™ system, which provides information on nonimmigrant visa types, and allows applicants to select an appointment date and time from those available. Each PIN costs US$10, and may be paid for with a credit card, either Visa or MasterCard. So from what I understand is...we can set-up our own interview date? Pls reply..

If this is the new procedure starting March 14th then this is absolutely great!!!!! People can now have control over scheduling their interviews.

I don't know if Visa Point will work. Visa Point is used for non-immigrant visas, and although the K1 is a non immigrant visa it is handled by the immigration visa unit.

Actually on the USEM website it says..all types of visas which visas includes the K visas...the only exclusions are the IR/CR visas...Just to let you know K1 is not handled by immigration visa unit...K1 visa is non-immigrant..your benificiary will apply for non-mmigrant visa in Manila not for immigrant visa..they only become immigrant when they file for AOS once they are married to the USCitizen. So technically, it's still is a tourist visa but with a condition...but that is a whole different issue.

Anyways I will try to check that Visapoint site from time to time..having control over your interview date is a good thing..hehe..

For those who have an MNL# and do not yet have an interview date like myself, we'll just have to try to call DOS or that # ext 5184 to see what is going on.

I've tried to call that extention 2x, and the person is on the phone.

Loraine must be very busy.

If I do get to speak with her, i'll be updating everyone.

We are in the same level of process. Im wondering what will be your query at DOS? What kind of info they can give you in the stage of process? I thought of calling USEM in a week or 2 to ask if they have received our petition from NVC and thinking thats all I/we can do for tracking my/our case. If anyone can add up my knowledge of the whole process would be so appreciated :-).

has any one try to use the iv appointment link it takes a little bit for you number to be posted there but once they sent your packet to embassy it is posted on link i really dont think embassy would like there phone lines tied up any way try the link
