Case No finally raised!

Yipee, my case/receipt no. is now on the USCIS website for tracking but the date they have as being received says 29 January 2008. We sent my petition off at the end of November! How do I get this rectified?

I dont think you do - we sent ours in August of this year but our receipt date is December 21 2007 -

The received date is probably the date they opened the envelope the way things are going.

I thought that they were honouring the date on which the petitions were received, not the date they decide to process them. This is so frustrating isn't it.

Im not sure how much truth there is to it or not but my case was similar with almost the same dates ..... sent in and recieved and signed for in early november and that date is reflected on the NOA1 but so is the date of the notice which is also on the form. I called USCIS and talked to someone and I was told they would honor the recieved date this date will appear in the "Received Date" box on Form I-797, Notice of Action. The received date on Form I-797 is different from the "Notice Date," which also appears on the Notice and identifies the date the receipt notice was actually generated. I was told "The actual received date will be honored and recorded on the receipt notice" which it was. After about 180 days from November 5th I plan to be on the phone if i havent recieved an approval notice.
