Packet Three - Vancouver Canada

Horray, we just got our Packet Three from the Vancouver Consulate --- I have a concern though, can someone tell me if the I-134 is normally listed in the items needed from the K3 checklist --- or does that come as a request in packet 4 --- this is just a bit perplexing since you have to give proof of abiltiy to support the immigrating spouse --- is it different at other consulates? --- I don't mind if I don't need it --- because there are certainly enough other items on the checklist we have to complete and compile ---By the way it came to our attorney and then she sent it to me --- so hubby was a bit sad he did not get that packet at his doorstep --- since the ball so to speak has been in my court, he was anticipating it coming his way ---

Congrats on receiving your packet!! It seems to me like I heard about that happening to another couple and they in fact did not require it in vancouver. We have transferred our case to vancouver and had to fill out another checklist specific to vancouver. I will ask my husband if that was on it the next time i talk to him. I know with montreal that that was on the checklist and they sent us the actual form too. We already have the I-134 taken care of so i'm not worried about it. If i were you, i would email the embassy after sending the checklist and just make sure you won't need it for the interview...... this would be a good time to also make sure they received your paperwork and everything is going normally. The email is vancouverK@state.gov. They are generally very good about replying within a few days. Good luck!!!!!!

They didn't ask for I-134 when I had my K3 interview in Vancouver. It was also not in our checklist.

I wonder when they stopped wanting it? If you visit "embassy info" up top and click Vancouver, it is listed in the forms needed. Hmmmm. That seems really weird to me being that the Support topic seems to weigh so heavy in situations, is it just because it is K3 and they know you'll have to show support when you adjust anyway?

It does seem wierd --- I will call them or have my hubby do so this week to be certian but the reasoning you mentioned about AOS seems pretty reasonable, does that mean they are the only reasonable consulate out there --- if so, Im glad we are going with them --- we were married in Canada in September and he is a UK citizen ---

I had my interview for K3 visa last Monday and they didn't ask for the Affidavit of Support but I saw them asking one for a K1 visa.
