Hello,

I am in the process of filing an I130 for my wife, I will also try a K3, my question is can my wife go try for a tourist visa while we are waiting, just to visit for a couple of weeks and go back, not to stay here. If she gets denied for tourist Visa, will it have any impact on her I130 and K3 applications?

Thanks.

Intending immigrants are not granted tourist visas. You can look up the exact wording in the guides. My wife then a K2 applied for a tourist visa and told the consulate that an I129F had been filed. Despite all assurances that she would return and did not want to risk her the I129F process, she was denied. As the consulate denied her the tourist visa they thanked her for her honesty and told her they looked forward to seeing her again at the embassy for her K2 visa. The rest is history.

Cheers.
