Am surprised at the number of times applicants would have to do their Biometrics.

My spouse had her FP taken during the K-1 interview.

My spouse had her FP taken during POE.

My spouse will have her FP taken during AOS.

My spouse will have her FP taken during Removal of Conditions.

My spouse will have her FP taken during Citizenship.

All I see is fees, fees and more fees for USCIS and no other benefit..

What are your thoughts?

What makes FP expire within a certain period of time say a year?

If they do expire, what is it that changes?

I got my senetor to ask about the Biometrics and all the fees I was paying to have them done.... the reply he got was that USCIS do not retain the fingerprints or photo's on file.. once security checks have been completed and cards produced the information is deleted from the system... all they keep is the fingerprint that is embossed on to the card they have issued. So if you need a new card or have a new application they need to recapture your Biometrics all over again...

Thanks Kez...that probably explains a bit but am still not convinced that they just throw away the FP once the security checks are complete.

Previously, I don't think they took photos at Biometrics appointment now its routine and mandatory. If USCIS really wants to take a picture, why ask us to send pictures at all? Am not against it just baffled...
