Did we scare you away from the fotos thread with all that "serious" talk?

Sorry.

There really are some fotos in there somewhere.

Edited: Fotos. I've been "thinking" in Russian again.

I've caught myself doing that once or twice. Natasha holds the record though: after she received her renewed passport, she panicked because she thought they had misspelled her name. Turns out, she was 'reading' it in English!

That story still kills me.

I was writing a quick note to my boss the other day, and had to stop and think for a second when I got to the letter "N" to remember which way it's supposed to face.

I think I've figured out why these Russian threads get hi-jacked. We all know the rules, but we just choose to ignore them. A little like life in Russia.....

I speak Russified english all the time. It's terrible. "It would be more better if we did this..."

Sochi is in the top five of places in Russia I want to travel to. Great photos!

YES! It could just be me anthropomorphizing the forum, but whenever I click the Russia regional forum link it immediately feels different. Organizing a thread here is like organizing a line in Russia. It just doesn't work. We all mill around in a sinewy bundle, all the while just sort of group-knowing who's turn is next at the window (usually the person with the widest elbows), and always keeping track of what the current subject is, even if that's not what it's titled. Dear god...I feel like I should register my residency!

I speak Russified english all the time. It's terrible. "It would be more better if we did this..."

Heh, I catch myself doing this all the time too. Usually it's right after I get off the phone with Nadya. "I am theenking..."

The reason most of our threads get hijacked is because we're so efficient, we get the questions answered within the first couple of posts and then it turns into theorizing about related issues; which segues into theorizing about unrelated issues; which then becomes opportunities to add in some humor and that is so often spun into a new topic because how can you poke fun at someone without them taking it to the next level?

Yes...I speak fluent Russified English. The best training program for learning to speak Russified English is to watch the old Johnny Weissmuller "Tarzan" movies. "Me Tarzan...you Nadia."
