First of all, let me thank everybody who are helping me on advancing my case. My case has been approved recently, and I am preparing for my fiance'es interview in the Mumbai consulate.

1. First of all, I would appreciate any feedback on k1 interview questions. or any k1 experience in Mumbai consulate.

2. Could somebody verify that I have complete list for affidavit of support

pay stub (last 6 month)

letter from employer

Copy of w-2 (Do I need to send the original w-2 here?)

bank statement

IRS tax transcript for last 3 years

IRS tax filling last year (2007)

Sworn statement

Other docs:

Letter of intent

proof of citizenship

letter from my friends that we are going to marry.

3. Taking the clue from members here, I am preparing packet 3 in advance. Assuming BMB # has been issued by NVC already, can I send packet 3 now? Should I wait till the case reaches Mumbai?

4. Does Mumbai return the original document? I am asking because I may need for AOS filling.

Thank you everybody

You probably already know, but you can go through the India reviews to see more details on the interviews:

India Interviews

The interview experience varies widely. Sometimes people are asked hardly 5-10 questions (mostly about when the couple first met, how often they have seen each other or corresponded, what the family thinks, etc.) and sometimes many more details are asked.

Your Affidavit of Support proof looks complete! No need to send original W2s, though if you have them, they could always be brought to the interview, just in case.

Before you send in Packet 3, you need to wait until you know for sure that your case has arrived in Mumbai. They will refuse your Packet 3 if they haven't received your case yet.

Yes, original documents (submitted at the VFS office before the interview) are returned at the interview. Don't forget to make copies of EVERYTHING, just in case! When we gave the documents, we had the original and copy of everything, and let the VFS office staff pick what they wanted.

Good luck for a speedy interview date!

Thank you, CjIndia and Elw. Eileen, I am sorry that I didn't send you a message with my approval news. I was so happy.

Follow on question: My fiancee have got the police certificate before BMB # is generated. Can she take those to interview, assuming interview is within 6 month validity period.

I greatly appreciate your help, guys.

As long as the validity period exists, the certificate is good enough. Since I was sure (from other timeline estimates) that the process from NOA2 to Interview will be less than six months, I got mine ready even before my papers reached NVC  Now I am ready to go for interview on 6th March.

Good luck RSA! I am sure you will come out winner!

Follow up question: Can my fiancee prepare the DS-230, 156 and 156K in computer and take print out. Space is not large enough to write by hand. I know one of the forms has to be hand written and we will do that. Any thoughts?

Better contact the embassy on this. Each one has its own rules. For example New Delhi Embassy wanted entries written.
