We just received instructions from our lawyer about filling up the forms. I noticed that she asked me to fill up the DS 157 and DS230I (and she will fill up the DS156 on my behalf)...

Not that I doubt our lawyer  , I checked the DS230I and compared it to the DS156K and noticed that they are not the same forms( are they? ). The instructions I received is to fill up these forms and handcarry them to the Consulate.

So which is which? DS156K or DS230I or BOTH??:blink::blink::blink::blink::blink:

Thank you. I mailed her and told her DS230 is not included in my packet from the Consulate. She must have forgotten that I am in K1 route!:blink::blink::blink::blink::blink:

Typical help too many get from a lawyer. No one fills out both the 156 and 230. If your lawyer is going to handle the 157 hope they know the fee has increased to $131.

That is true. I personally knew someone who had her interview last Jan.4 and just rely on their lawyer, but the lawyer didnt knew probably about the 650 verification fee so, they just pay it on the day of the interview. Sad to note,up to this date they are still waiting for the visa. Good thing that Lady_anne is a member of VJ  and very inquisitive that justify her intelligence  KEEP IT UP VJ FAMILY

Thanks Ms Amy. :D

I asked our lawyer about the DS 230 form and here is what she replied...

Hello. The DS156 has been E Filed and is included in the financial packet. The others (DS156K, DS157, DS230) are attached below in an editable format so you can complete them. The DS230, part one, absolutely needs to be completed. The forms attached do not need to be E Filed as far as I know.

Thank you for your prompt attention with the DS156 supplement.

the DS-230 is not needed for a K-1 in Manila. from what I know, the DS-156 is not e filed. the data entered on it is transcribed into a bar code which is printed on a third page. you present the DS-156 on the day of your interview. is your lawyer familar with the process for a K-1 in Manila?

If I were you, I will send her that link above. It will give your lawyer ideas that we don't need DS230 for K1 route.
