US Citizen Filling in India

Hello All,

I am US Citizen currently based in India (since June 2007) and I am planning to apply for my spouse ( we got married in December 2007). Please help me in the process, I am clueless as one can be..

I am aware that I can file the visa from Delhi as I have lived here for more than 60 days,..How long does the process usually takes in Delhi and in States (San Diego, California).

Please tell me the first step towards his visa.. Really want to vist cali this summer as of a family event...

There isn't much info available on DCF in India. It looks like you have to give the I-130 application (see K3 visa in the GUIDES on VJ) directly at Delhi Embassy. I hear it goes very fast, within 2-3 months; whereas in the states, 6-8 months or more. Please contact Delhi Embassy direct for better info.

Nov 24, 2010: Did SSN and Applied for Passport
Dec 6, 2010: Passport Arrives
Dec 7, 2010: Sent for Indian Passport Surrender Certificate
Dec 27, 2010: Surrender Certificate Arrives
Jan 3, 2011: Sent for Overseas Citizenship of India Card
March 1, 2011: Received OCI card!

Divorce

Feb 2015:​ Found out he was cheating (prostitutes / escorts)

​May 2015: Divorce Final
