Visa to US for medical care

I have a friend in Ethiopia who wants to come to the US. Her situation is this; there is a family that she's very close to, they have a sick child who has been granted a visa to get medical care in the US. The child's immediate family has asked her to accompany the child to America (they can't afford to send the child and a family member). What type of visa would she need? Is this possible?

These are the only details I have right now; let me know what other questions I should ask her about the situation.

How long would she need to stay in the United States? I'm guessing her best bet is a B-2 visa, but she will need to show ties to her home country, and the ability to not become a public charge during her visit. Perhaps someone else on VisaJourney knows of another visa that would be easier to get for this purpose.

So she and the child would both need B-2 visas? I'm not sure how long the medical procedure will take, I will be sure to ask. In order to show she will not become a public charge I'm guessing she would need to fill out an I-134 and a I-864.

I don't think an affidavit of support would be needed, and that would be for a U.S. citizen sponsor anyway. The main concern with a B-2 visa is that you have to demonstrate ties to the home country, and intent to NOT immigrate.

For medical reasons, I'm guessing it won't be too hard to get a B-2 visa, but I'm neither an expert nor speaking from experience. I'm not aware of any other visa used for this purpose.
