Just a little refresh on the SLEC medical exams. Lai and son had theirs completed last week. Seems the child gets a skin test for TB, which in many cases comes up positive requiring a chest xray and sputum test, and an additional trip to SLEC. Since Lai is in metro Manila, not a big deal, but one extra day to consider. So all in all it went like this: 1st day Tueday, 2nd day Thursday... ADDITIONAL day Friday for son xray and sputum. Going early isn't a bad idea, especially if you have some extra things that might have to happen.

we are too. my SO is in Cebu, where is yours?....i'm already making a back up plans incase it doesn't come before she leaves for Manila. looks like the banks to pay the visa fee & delbros verification are really close to the embassy. so i'm not too worried ...YET!

not clear about some things though. does she call the embassy & request a p/u for her packet at st. lukes or does she just call st. lukes? & how many days in advance does she need to call?

Got my packet this afternoon like 4 hours after i made my post re: "has anyone received their packet yet...". Talk about coincidence huh...

Anyways, here's what it contained (i know you guys already know what's inside - just wanted to pass the time while posting here hehehe!):

- Appointment letter (1st page)

- Notice of Fee Increase (2nd page)

- K3 Packet (Page 3 to 10) -> This includes all the requirements/documentation to be submitted as well as the location map of SLEC, info on where to pay the visa fee etc, etc...) Note that this can be downloaded at http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwfivk3.pdf.

- 2 copies of both DS-156 and DS-157 forms (page 11 and 12)

- Photograph specifications (last page)

Noticed that the DS forms included in the packet are already expired. Not sure if i need to get the more updated one though (????).

Ei Smoke - i think you need to call USEM for early packet pickup at SLEC. Check out this posts: Packet Pickup SLEC Link 1 and Packet Pickup at SLEC 2.

Hope this helps...

2-0. In favor of the boys.
