I called the USEM today and asked about the early medical and the packet. He confirmed that its ok to have the medical even more than a month before your scheduled interview. Medical Exam Results are VALID for 6 MONTHS. I also asked about going to St Lukes without the appointment letter and yes, like most of vj members tell us, just PRINT the APPOINTMENT schedule ONLINE and go to SLEC and tell them that you wish to have the early medical and that you will pick up your K1 packet there.

He told me to just bring the following:

1. payment for the examinations

2. 2x2 picture with white background (he told me to prepare around 6 just to be sure)

3. online visaappointment schedule printed.

Thats all. Did he give me the correct information?:blink::blink:

YES his right! but if your not contented u can go there in slec and directly go to window G. asked them if u can pick up your packet. then u can start your medical. why they ask your visa appointment? just because they will attach it in your form. so even no packet u can still use the schedule onlne.

Just putting my 2 cents in, and it won't affect my financial status....

While the poverty level table has nothing to do with this thread of March interview dates, it does bring a point to me which I find somewhat amusing. If the USC is BARELY living above poverty level, why would someone want to get into the huge financial responsibility of a foreign spouse? The expenses of the future are enormous. And if your USC is barley making a living, how do you expect to be able to send any funds back home to your family, or make frequent or even infrequent trips back home when you get homesick.

It all boils down to this, one of the major factors in US divorce is arguing over finances. You face a tough enough battle just being the foreign spouse. Don't compound it by getting involved with some poor USC that can't even support themselves alone, much less with added mouths to feed. And if they are divorced and paying child support to their first family.... well, the spiral only goes downward faster....

Like I said... definitely off topic and definitely my two cents....
