these images are from google because I don't have any on my computer at work but king edwards bay & the tynemouth priory were basically our front yard. our flat us just over the road from the sea and is the view out our front windows.

I'm from The Wirral, Merseyside. Most of my family are still there, but my sister is now in West Yorkshire. Other members of my family are now in British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario.

The windmill on Bidston Hill, which we used to walk to....

LOVE the Liverpool pic, Catrocks! And the Peak District! Not far from my sister in West Yorkshire! It's lovely there. Sigh. I need to start planning a visit.

Yes - it really is beautiful! All I had to do was point and click the camera; the Peak District is picture-perfect. I'll certainly miss it, although this past year the weather's been so horrid that most of the times I've been to visit it's been too foggy to see very far.

Alex's parents have never visited the UK but they love hiking so I'm hoping that in a couple of years' time we'll all be able to take a holiday together in the Peaks or perhaps the Lake District.

Is it really bad that I have no idea where Birkenhead Wirral is? Looks a lovely place, though!

My knowledge of the North-West is really hazy; it took me years to learn where Liverpool was, and I used to think Blackpool was on the East coast!

I swear my geography is otherwise pretty good, though.
