I recieved my letter on December 28th with a date of December 20th from the National Visa Center. Now that I have this and the case number, what timline will it be when the packet arrives?

In addition why do I read that some are going for an early medical appointment?

Many thanks,

My honey received her Packet 4 one month before her interview date February 4. She just finished her early medical. You do not have to go for early medical. But, USEM suggested it to us. Good Luck to you both!!!

We had an early medical appointment and an early packet 3. The USC can get it, only takes a polite letter to the embassy.

My wife did her medical on Dec 12th, we got our NOA2 on Nov 29th. We didnt get a transfer from the NVC to the embassy until Dec 28th. We had the packet III documents in October and went together to the embassy and had a document check done. I did call and check with the embassy that her medical would be held until the file could be tied together.

The medical is good for a year. We got the police cert in early Oct and it is good for 6 months. Her initerview was painless and consisted of one question "have you ever been to the US" which was no, and "this should make your husband happy".

She will be here on the 23rd, a week from Wednesday.

My packet 4 arrived about a week after USEM received it from NVC. It's always safer to go for advance medical since there might be unforeseen problems that might come up..this will enable you to have more time before the interview date as well.
