Vaccinations in Vietnam

There are several of the adjustment of status required vaccinations that my fiancee has not received. (1) She has no record of the past vaccinations she has gotten, and (2) she doesn't recall which she did/didn't receive as a child.

I'm well aware the vaccination cost is a lot cheaper here in Vietnam than it is through a doctor in the USA. Since she and I are both living here, I would like to have her get the vaccinations completed in Vietnam before heading to the USA, if/when our case is approved.

I took this info from the Department of State website regarding K-1 visas:

Vaccination Requirements

All applicants for immigrant visas are required to have the following vaccinations if appropriate for age, medical condition or medical history:

  • Mumps
  • Measles
  • Rubella
  • Polio
  • Tetanus and diptheria toxoids
  • Pertussis
  • Influenza type B
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
  • Pneumococcal

As a fiancé(e), you are not required to fulfill this requirement at the time of your medical examination for a fiancé(e) visa. However, you may want to do so. These vaccinations are required when you adjust status following your marriage.

My question to the Vietnam VJ members is this:

1. Is it necessary to have the above listed vaccinations administered at an "international" hospital in HCMC (i.e. Cho Ray, Columbia, etc), or is the record of them administered at a "normal" Vietnamese hospital just as good?

2. For those with K-3/CR1 experience, where in Vietnam is the vaccination record obtained to show as evidence for the interview in your visa situation?

Perhaps those with K-3 or CR1 experience could answer this better. I just want to know if she can go to the regular hospital in HCMC to get these, or if she needs to go to the "higher-class" international hospital.

Look forward to your feedback!
