Additional Info? |
Because my husband was in the US illegally we had to file a I-601 Application. My husband was required to fill out the paperwork for that immediately, and we needed to have the $350.00 USD processing fee in their office the next day by 9:00 a.m. or we would have to start all over again. (I wired him the funds via Western Union) So, if your spouse was in the States illegally, or committed a crime in the States or Mexico, be ready to have the processing fee ready to hand over when you come. Also, you must do your physical at least the day before. There are only two accepted places, and they only do the physicals from 7-11 a.m. My husband got there at one 20 minutes before they opened, and sent his cousin to stand in line in the other, and to call him via cell phone if he got to the front before my husband (they are only 2 blocks apart). My husband's clinic was slightly faster. He finished with his physical at 7:00 p.m. My husband estimated that there was over 75 people at his clinic getting the same physical. My husband said that his interview was very nice and kind, but that the support staff was rude and harrassing to people-giving them a hard time if they needed to leave the line to go to the bathroom and making them move to the back. For your VISA processing fee, you must take your appt letter to a Banamex Bank and deposit it there and they will give you a receipt. There is a Banamex almost right next door, which also is good, because that is where you can pick up Western Union Funds. (we had a problem with that because I told Western Union that First Name, Last Name would pick up the funds. His Mexican ID has his First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, on it so Banamex wouldn't let him pick it up. I had to call Western Union and have it changed to reflect the complete name on his ID before Banamex would allow him to pick up the funds) |
